We're back, everybody! Fresh week, fresh house, fresh murder. It is indeed a fresh house as when people wake on Monday morning they'll see that — everything is fixed! The windows, the table, whatever property damage that was inflicted last week is all cleaned up and reset. There is no SOS on the roof anymore. None of that. Anyone who stayed up all night on Sunday will have seen the mannequins diligently cleaning and repairing the house during the course of the night, finished by dawn. Yay!

They've also opened a new room in the house. A cleaning room — there is a washing machine, dryer, and various cleaning supplies in the room. Mops and brooms and dustpans and swiffers and all sorts of things! There's even a basket for collecting dirty laundry too.

And then in the morning, they bring in a few things to note, dumping it all in the living room.

• A assortment of feminine clothing — dresses, skirts, blouses, etc
• Included in that pile of clothing are twenty-five sailor uniforms of various sizes
• Make up! Quite a bit — enough to last the rest of the time
• So many packs of underwear. You had underwear last week but like, this is better
• A tablet with Candy Crush and Infinity Nikki on it. There is nothing else accessible on it. There's a sticky note on the cover that says FOR ECHINACEA
• A gun with one bullet is on the coffee table
• A spear is laid across the coffee table as well

That said, it doesn't seem like the food restocked. Huh...

Not really. I kept thinking about Yves and Tsukasa. [Unsurprisingly...] And these sheets and pillows are pretty uncomfortable, and the pajamas are super itchy.

[Guy who never got around to attempting to locate his own bedroom because he learned he was supposed to do it himself and then people started dying and he forgot]

Me too...I couldn't sleep at all because I kept thinking about them. But, um, maybe we can ask for better pillows and pajamas for you?

[ that will probably be immediately stolen but c'est la vie ]

I don't want you guys to be uncomfortable either, though. We should just tell them to get everybody better stuff.

You're right. Maybe we should make a list of what we need...? So we don't have to go back and forth asking for it.

[ pb who casually just stood there and let tsukasa die......remembering that makes him feel a little queasy again but he manages to nod once. ]

Sure....I can take it to Mister Butterworth. [ when will tamon stop calling him that. ] Let me get a pen and paper first so we can write it all down.

Anyway, he will follow Tamon and they can start to make a list!]

Okay, let's see. We've gotta have silk pillows and pajamas, that's a no-brainer. And we could get everybody some nice presents, too, to cheer them up--maybe some gold and jewels? I really like colorful and sparkly stuff. [IS THAT STUFF?] And I'd feel a lot better if we had real chefs and poison testers around, though he might say no to the second one... [Kalim's stomach chooses that moment to growl, but he ignores it.] But we could at least get lots of coconut juice, it helps. What else, what else... if Jamil were here, he'd probably say to order a bunch of medicine and first-aid kits? That's mostly what he brought to our SDC training camp.

[THERE'S ONLY ONE SINGLE REASONABLE SUGGESTION IN THIS LIST AND IT'S NOT EVEN KALIM'S IDEA.]

Yeah. I've had some pretty bad experiences with it, so Jamil usually does all the cooking, but he tests all the stuff he didn't make himself. But it's not like PB would just bring him here if I asked, so it'd have to be whoever they're willing to hire.

[IF ANYBODY... unlikely, but worth a shot...]

[ this is so sad....he has abandoned their list of necessities because he's too busy tearing up. ]

I can't believe someone would do that to you....you're so nice and friendly. [ and also filthy rich. ] You must have lived such a hard life up until now...

Don't cry about it! I'm fine, see? [Holds his arms out like this helps. For the record, he's still in pajamas because he never learned how to dress himself.] Dad always says it's just a part of life as the Asim heir, so I'm used to it. As long as it doesn't kill me, I don't think it's a big deal.

[ sniffles and starts writing faster ]

Then we definitely need a poison tester, just in case.

What's it like? Being the heir, that is. Isn't it a lot of work?

[Even Kalim is like 99% sure PB is going to say no and probably specifically encourage the mafia to start poisoning people, but he doesn't want Tamon to feel bad about trying so he'll let him write it down]

Not really! I'm still in school and my dad's not that old, so I haven't had to learn too much yet. Mostly it's just a lot of fun! I get to meet all kinds of people and show off my culture, so it's pretty great.

Oh...that does sound really fun....

[ actually the thought of socializing with a bunch of strangers and parade himself around makes him feel queasy, but kalim seems to enjoy it and that's what matters. ]

But aren't you worried about what happens when you do finally have to take over?

He leans back, tilting his head thoughtfully.]

Well, I do want to make sure I do a good job. It'd be pretty bad if I let the family down because I didn't know what I was doing. [Despite his everything, he does have at least a tiny bit of responsibility] But that's why I like being housewarden for my dorm! It's good practice. Though, I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing for that either, haha! But it's okay, I've got Jamil to bail me out.

It is, yeah! I was pretty surprised to be picked, but it's been fun.

[It was nepotism but he doesn't know that]

He's my retainer, yeah! [What's the difference between an attendant and a retainer... I don't know. Uses them interchangeably because Kalim probably doesn't know either.] His family's served mine for ages, so we practically grew up together. You'll never find a more dependable guy.

Does that mean he's your best friend too?

Yep! He definitely is. [pauses and winces a little] Oh, but, um... he'd probably want me to say that a lot of what he does for me is because I'm his boss. But! He's still my best friend.

[ best friend but ALSO retainer......relationships are so complicated. it makes him think of his own relationships back home. ]

You can be his best friend and boss, right? [ ... ] Or is that not allowed?
