[ week one: execution ]

EXECUTION
There's the sound of that handbell again, sometime Sunday morning when the sun gets high in the sky. It's PB in the front yard of the manor. He's looking as chipper(?) as ever and is riding the high of yesterday's trial. Voting for Tamon? That was good television. He's living it up, babey!

Which means when everyone gathers, he will beckon them to follow. Onto the beach, that invisible wall gone for now and instead PB leads them to a circle of tiki torches, lit despite the daytime hours and surrounded in a circle by mannequins. The sound of the waves are loud near the water where they stand and it's actually a little cold. The crew is there, filming the circle and the contestants as well as they're encouraged to stand around it. If they try to go into the circle itself, they will be stopped — except for one person.

Tamon will be carried out of the house by mannequins, all the way to to the middle of the circle and dropped in the center of the sand. The mannequins will leave then, going back to their place among the circle of crew. This is feeling very Survivor, isn't it? Which is when PB pipes up —

"Don't worry, everyone. It's distinct enough that we won't get sued!"

Bastard.

Anyway, now that you're all here, what's going to happen next?

[ What is it with people here being surprised at being shown the slightest bit of consideration? ]

It's deplorable. I have seen public hangings conducted with more respect than this farce.

[ He looks down at Tsukasa again, before actually covering up his face with a smaller towel, very gently so. ]

... we will need to begin a graveyard.

At least those don't mix cruelty with vaudeville comedy.

[ since that seems to be the vibe they're going for... ]

We will. In the garden, perhaps? Our space is limited.

By necessity, we have already filled one grave. We can dig another and add markers that aid in proper remembrance.

[ The first grave was not dug with intent of putting anybody to rest like this, but it has set a precedent that now is turning into dire necessity. ]

... there are flowers from my home in the garden. A certain village in the depths of the forest uses them for funeral rites.

Oh? Then that's as fitting as a marker that we'll get.

[ though he considers for another moment, as he finishes wringing out his hair. ]

We might use another flower to signify it was this boy, in particular.

That is a beautiful idea. We do not have the materials to make a headstone, nor do I know whether those are the customs that would honor their respective cultures and wishes.

[ There are so many different kinds of burials in Euchronia!! ]

Flowers may not be a universal gesture either, but there is little reason to believe a sincerely placed marker would cause offense.

They're universal in some ways, so it will have to do.
