MINGLE LOG
The way you arrive might vary from person to person. Perhaps, you wake up on the beach, with your pet cat licking your face. Or you wake up tucked away in your bed, an item of yours nearby and a card on the bedside table reading your name and Welcome to the manor!
Either way, you end up in a modern mansion on a empty, lonely beach, with no explanation of why you're there or what's going on. In the driveway, there is a car with keys in the ignition but, unfortunately, no gas in the tank. In the living room, there is a touch screen television featuring a variety of profiles featuring you and the many other lost souls trapped in this mansion alongside with you.
There is also a camera crew. A camera crew? Really? But following the characters along are blank faced mannequins in a variety of colors, dressed in all black, operating cameras to film them. If you try and talk to the crew, they say nothing (as they have no mouth or eyes or... anything) and just continue to film them. Trying to touch them results in the mannequin falling over and going immobile, only to be replaced by a new one that appears from... somewhere? Weird.
The kitchen is fully stocked. There are spare clothes in the closets. There's even a few video game systems with games in the living room as well. There are books to read in the library. There's writing and drawing materials in the office. There's things to do. Just... why? To what end? What's going on here?
For those intrepid folks who decide to walk as far as they can away from the manor and the beach will find themselves blinking at one point and suddenly being back in the front yard of the manor. Huh. Strange.
Answers don't seem to be coming anytime soon. You might as well just... settle in?

But instead, Leon startles as a knife suddenly embeds itself in the table before him. He swiftly looks up to see Roathe, paired with an explanation, and now sporting a bandaged tail with no knife attached.
Again, with feeling: what the fuck.]
I'm glad we're all coping with this normally. Question: are you crazy?
[WORRY!! CONCERN??]
no subject
Hardly. It is a practical matter. I assume our little group of infiltrators does not wish to be caught, and thus must blame the innocent. I will not give them an easy opportunity to do so.
no subject
[Can he grab a napkin and use it to carefully unstick the knife from the table? He's gonna try to do that right now as he stands, frowning.]
That just means if they're going to pin you with a murder, then they're going to pick something other than stabbing. Not to mention you've just given everyone here a free-range knife to do whatever they want with. It made more sense to keep to stuck to your tail.
[also are you going to die of infection, buddy, that is also not good]
no subject
They may, yes. I am not unaware of the possibility, but I will not hand over the simplest one.
[ As for the other point, well. His expression just stays firm. ]
If the Infiltrators wish to use the knife for their murders, then so be it. It is not as if they could not simply collect them from the kitchen, just as I did to cut it off. [ haha ๐ ]

Leon is mentally closing his eyes at the mention of this guy using a kitchen knife to lop off the end of his own tail, but outwardly? He is still looking at him like this was way, way too extreme of a "solution."]
Something tells me this is deadlier than a kitchen knife.
[Like come on, we do not need yet one more murder variable floating around, who knows what'll happen.]
It wasn't worth the risk. Nothing's even happened yet, and you're out here mutilating yourself like it's nothing. [If nothing else, this sure is enlightening re: Roathe's character.]
no subject
[ That's putting it lightly but he's not getting into that Lore rn. More importantly... He glances to the children (20 years old) huddled under the table, then back to Leon. ]
I see that this is considered extreme, but you are correct. It is nothing. It is a simple decision that any Orokin would make, for we are not particularly attached to our bodies in general.
no subject
[Why are you giving us more work.]
And if you're saying you're not attached to your bodies because you can heal, do I need to remind you that's not going to happen while we're here? Didn't it even hurt?
no subject
[ For the rest, though. Roathe's lips purse together tightly, as if he has a lot to say about the question, but the answer remains simple. ]
Of course it hurt. But in the sea of agonies that comes from war, it is little.
no subject
Did you at least disinfect the wound? [Ultimately, this is the biggest concern.]
no subject
[ and he sure does say cauterization casually like that's just a normal thing you do to yourself, ]
It would be pathetic to go through all this trouble to merely die of infection. So, trust me. I shall be diligent in keeping it clean.
no subject
...Keep an eye on it. A wound like that is something you have to observe, because it can get out of hand real fast, even if you think you've dressed it properly.
[where's a first aid spray when you need it]
no subject
I am aware. This is not the first wound I have had, nor will it be the last, I am sure. It is not even the first I have inflicted upon myself with intent.
[ And though he does bristle in offense, he's at least reasonable enough (?) to realize that it's because Leon doesn't know his background. ]
I have spent more time on battlefields than you likely have been alive. That is why it is scarcely a bother.
no subject
[THE TIRED DAD VIBES ARE RADIATING OFF OF HIM NOW. he's not angry he's disappointed, etc
Holds out his knife-tail.]
If you're not taking this back, I'm holding onto it.
